The Machinima Artist Guild (M.A.G.) is an association of Second Life® users who produce Animation Films (Machinimas) in virtual worlds. Cisko Vandeverre is Initiator and Organizer of the MACHINIMA AWARD. The best Machinima Films in 5 different categories are being sought - ART, DRAMA, FUN, LOVE, and NEWBIE. The initial prize money of 250,000L$ has been generously underwritten with the co-operation of 5 sponsors: Dutch Exchange B.V., SECOND INTEREST AG, theDOgroup, virtyou GmbH, and YOUin3D.com GmbH.
The competition is open to all registered members of the M.A.G. One film submission per person is allowed. Entry fee is 2,500L$. This fee will be added to the prize money bank, meaning the more people who enter the competition, the higher the award prize money will be!
Award Prize Money will be allocated as follows:
Total Award Prize Money will be divided into fifths, with each category receiving one-fifth. First Prize Winner within each category will receive 50% of that prize money. Second Prize Winner will receive 30%. Third Prize Winner will receive 20%.
Each film submitted for competition will first go through an online preliminary selection, which will determine the top 5 films for each category. These 5 films will then be posted on their Sponsor SIM, and during this time (October 12, 2009 through October 16, 2009) will be available for screening and voting on by the general public.

On October 17, 2009 the award ceremony takes place in newBERLIN in Second Life®, where the winners of the five catagories will be announced and the prize money will be handed over. Additionally, the event will be broadcasted to real New York and Berlin.
How do I submit a film?
1. If you are not a M.A.G. member, go to the Machinima Artist Guild, and register.
2. Then send the link with your film via e-mail to Cisko Vandeverre, along with the Title Name, Director's Name, Synopsis and Category in which you want your film to compete.
3. After approval, the Entry Fee of 2,500L$ is due and payable at a "Pay System", which are located in each of the 5 Sponsor SIMs.
4. Closing Date for Entries is September 27, 2009.

October 12 - October 16, 2009: Open Screening and Voting by the General Public.
